There are different conventions that we might expect to see in the opening 2 minutes of a film.
These include:

• Set the story
• Introduction of characters (Mise en scene)

• Enigma - A question left unanswered to create suspense
• Music/Lighting - Can be used to set the mood
• Set the scene by using time or location
